Poetry Café

We had a very busy week preparing for our Poetry Café, which was a huge success! Thank you all for supporting our poets I know they had a blast and were so excited to share their poems with their families. The students were in charge of setting up the food, making the lemonade, and creating the place cards. They all were very happy to be involved knowing it was for our families. Mrs. Atkin and Stella were able to come visit before the café for a little bit and they stayed to enjoy Poetry Café. The students were all very excited to see Mrs. Atkin and meet Stella for the first time!

Below you will see our students visiting with Mrs. Atkin and Stella, getting everything ready for the Café and reading their wonderful poems!

Thank you again for all your support! Check back next week and see what we are going to be working on next!
Have a great week!

Fancy Day, Visiting Mrs. Gore, Africa, and New Work Stations

We have had yet another busy week! It was Fancy Day, we were able to visit Mrs. Gore's class to see their recycling projects, and worked on new work stations as well as played some African games and constructed African huts and villages.

Here are a few pictures from Fancy Day!

Mrs. Gore's class has been talking about cool ways to use recycled materials. There job was to create something useful with at least 3 different recycled materials. Here are some of their creations.

Since we have been studying Africa we have learned that Mancala is a game they enjoying playing. Some of our friends have even been building huts and villages during "I Wonder" Inquiry time.

This week we also put out new workstations. We have been working on subtraction, addition, CVC words, and measurement.

Thanks for stopping by this week! We are continuing to grow and learn everyday! Stop by next week to see our Poetry Cafe! Have a great week!

Butterfly Lifecycle and Visiting Mrs. Garrabrant's

This past week was a very busy week. We have continued researching our countries, started observing our caterpillars, and even visited Mrs. Garrabrant's classroom to learn about what they have been studying.

We are very excited, our class has 5 caterpillars to watch and observe the butterfly lifecycle. Right now the students are observing them in the caterpillar stage. They are drawing pictures of what they look like and writing their observation notes. We will continue to record their progression in the lifecycle. Hopefully this coming week we will be able to observe them in their chrysalis stage!

This past week we were also invited to Mrs. Garrabrant's classroom to learn all about Reptiles. Our class did a wonderful job listening and asking great questions. Mrs. Garrabrant's class taught us a lot about crocodiles, turtles, amphibians, and lizards.

Thanks for stopping by! Check back next week to see what stage our butterflies are in and to see what else we have been learning about! Have a wonderful week!
