Library Field Trip

Last week we took a walking field trip to the West Carrollton Library.  It was great having a few parents help us get all the students across the street safely.  The children's librarian, Mrs. Fultz, was AMAZING!  When we arrived, she led us to the children's reading carpet and read us two wonderful books.  The first book she read was called "Extra Yarn" by Mac Barnett.  This story is about a little girl that makes a sweater for herself, has extra yarn, and decides to make new things everybody and everything in her town.  It is a beautiful story and all the children enjoyed it.

The second book Ms. Fultz read was called "Oh, No!"  This was a very cute story about animals that fell into a hole and their struggles getting out.

Ms. Fultz then showed the students where to find the children's books and off they
went to explore.  They had a great time looking at different types of books,
reading to each other having parents read to them.

Before we left to walk back to school, Ms. Fultz read one more story.  She read the story about a little boy that kept getting things stuck in a tree.  It's called "Stuck" by Oliver Jeffers.  This book is very silly and the students all thought it was hilarious.  This book is a great book to read with your child to help figure out ways to solve problems.

When we got back to the classroom we made Ms. Fultz a card to show our appreciation.
Philip drew Ms. Fultz in her rocking chair reading a book!

We plan on visiting the library again in the Spring.  If we have a mild Winter we might be able to plan another walking trip sooner.  Have a great week!
